Sacramento’s Growing Homelessness Crisis: A Community Called to Care, Give, and Make a Difference

Sacramento, CA — Sacramento is facing a severe and growing homelessness crisis, with an estimated 10,000 to more than 16,500 people experiencing homelessness each year as of late 2025 to 2026. This crisis is fueled largely by rising housing costs and a deep shortage of affordable housing, leaving thousands of individuals and families struggling to find stability, safety, and hope.

Behind every number is a real person. Many are parents, veterans, seniors, and young adults who never imagined they would find themselves without a place to call home. The need in the community is urgent, and it continues to grow.

Through the kindness and compassion of supporters on social media, along with friends and family who have stepped up to help Tim and Jen through monetary donations or items purchased from their Amazon wish list, lives are being touched in meaningful ways. Their efforts are rooted in love for the community and a genuine desire to make sure no one feels forgotten.

Every act of generosity, no matter the size, helps provide comfort, dignity, and practical support to neighbors who are facing incredibly difficult circumstances. Together, the community has the power to bring light into some very dark moments and remind people that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
